Each school year, MYLaw's Mock Trial Competition provides a real-world experience for Maryland high school students to learn about the law, courts, and legal profession. Your donation helps support youth throughout the state - from the Southern Shore to Western Maryland and everywhere in between! More than 2,000 students from 150 high school teams across Maryland participate each year. Last year, approximately 470 attorneys and judges volunteered to preside over the nearly 400 competitions, which were, for the first time, completely virtual. This is the largest virtual mock trial competition ever in the United States.

Since its inception in 1983, more than 74,000 Maryland students have participated in Mock Trial, arguing civil and criminal cases. Students portray witnesses and attorneys and learn both sides of the legal argument, effectively arguing as Plaintiff/Prosecution and Defense during the course of the competition. The state championship is argued in Maryland's Court of Appeals before a high court judge!
