MYLaw is excited to begin its 28th annual Law Links Internship for Baltimore City youth! Nearly 900 young people have interned with Law Links, and many have gone on to pursue law-related and other professional careers. Law Links occurs every year as a result of a small, dedicated committee of volunteers who help secure worksites, funding, and additional support.

Baltimore City rising high school juniors and seniors are placed in area law firms, law related agencies, and nonprofits for seven weeks of full-time work. Youth are outfitted with suits from Jos.A.Banks or Ann Taylor and participate in the paid 50-hour Law & Leadership Institute that starts as an orientation and resumes each Wednesday morning throughout the program. Workplace etiquette and soft skills are much of the focus of the Institute, but youth also discuss timely topics with guest speakers, participate in "field trips" to the Circuit Court and Federal District Court among others, and engage in group activities that instill knowledge and understanding of the courts and legal system.

Interns also create a budget, learn to track personal spending, and develop an understanding of financial literacy to better prepare them for life goals.

Here is what your contribution can do, and ANY amount is helpful!

$100 - Covers an orientation breakfast for the interns

$250 - Covers an orientation lunch

$400 - Pays for one intern's business suit

$800 - Sponsors the Kickoff Luncheon

$1,200 - Sponsors a Field Trip

$2,200 - Sponsors the Law Links Banquet

$3,400 - Sponsors a scholarship which covers the hourly wages for an intern working in a nonprofit or city agency
