Did you know that Baltimore City Law Links has been in operation since 1994? Or that 911 youth have been hired and placed in Law Links internships over the years? While the internship isn't designed just for students who want to pursue a legal career, we do have quite a few success stories that will wow you!

Ebony Thompson, who was recently sworn in as the city's first female City Solicitor, was a 1996 Law Links Intern who interned with...you may have guessed it: the Baltimore City Solicitor's Office! As a Baltimore City College graduate, Ebony obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Brown University and a Master of Business Administration from American Intercontinental University. Ebony holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude in 2013. Prior to working for the City Solicitor's Office, Ebony served as a Reservist in the United States Marine Corps Reserve for eight years. Ebony began her legal career at Venable LLP, where she worked for over eight years in complex legal matters.

Alicia Wilson, who works as JP Morgan's Managing Director and Head of Regional Philanthropy for North America, was a 1998 Law Links Intern at the Public Justice Center. Alicia was valedictorian of her graduating class at Mergenthaler Vocational High School in Baltimore City. She attended UMBC and University of Maryland Carey Law where she obtained her JD. Alicia worked at Gordon Feinblatt for more than seven years before moving on to the Sagamore Development Company, Port Covington Investments and Johns Hopkins before landing in her current position with JP Morgan. Alicia is something of a celebrity who is known as a passionate youth advocate - one who looks for every opportunity to give back to the community from which she came.

Reggie Smallwood who is a corporate attorney with Miles & Stockbridge is a Baltimore City College graduate and a Law Links 2011 alumni with the Legal Aid Bureau. Reggie attended Morgan State University and obtained his JD at University of Baltimore School of Law. Reggie went on to intern with the Honorable George L. Russell, III and clerked with the Honorable Robert McDonald of the Maryland Supreme Court.

Alicia, Ebony and Reggie make it a point to come and speak with each class of interns. And, many other alumni visit with each year's interns to share words of wisdom and tips on making the summer a success.

Twenty nine years after it first began, Law Links continues to offer unique work opportunities for Baltimore City youth - and we can't do it without you and the support of our community.
